Elwood Lodge No. 919 A.F. & A.M.           350 N. Midland Ave., Joliet, Illinois 60435
Chartered October 12, 1910                                                         Stated Meeting: 1st Thursday
From the East
The east is where the sun rises every day. The east is also from where the worshipful master leads (or "governs" as we say) his lodge.
As Catholics enter a church and expect to see an eternal flame and a tabernacle in the East, and Protestants expect to find there a pulpit, so
masons enter a lodge and face east to receive work instructions from the architect.

Welcome, Traveler!

Let me be among the first to welcome you to our website -- regardless
Let me assure you that you find yourself among friends ...

As the Worshipful Master of Elwood Lodge No. 919 A.F. & A.M., I would
be delighted to meet you in person at one of our lodge events --
especially during this year of our 100th anniversary since our lodge's
forefathers received their charter from the Grand Lodge of A.F. & A.M.
of the State of Illinois. Please utilize our Trestle Board to inform
yourself about our upcoming events.

If you are a Non-Mason and would like to learn more about Freemasonry—and our lodge in particular—feel free to contact us through the provided

the Tyler on the left side.

Wherever you may find yourself on your walk of life, be assured that our brethren—as promoters of Friendship, Morality, and Brotherly Love—will
always gladly reach out to any man who wishes to be part of the oldest fraternity. Any good man who wishes to work on himself among same-
minded friends and brethren will always be welcome among us.

Please utilize our website as well as the provided links to other Masonic resources as often as you wish. Our Brother Secretary, who is also highly
interested in history—of our lodge in particular and Freemasonry in general—is consistently working to unearth new insights about our lodge’s
history. He is working with our webmaster to allow all interested access to our history. You may just find a new chapter revealed when you visit our
site the next time …

Friend, may you travel safely until we shall meet again!
